Summary

Focus Blocks does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. There is no account, analytics, advertising, or Focus Blocks backend.

What data is handled

On iPhone and iPad

App and category selections you choose through Apple's FamilyActivityPicker. These are stored locally and used only to decide what to shield.
Rules you create, including schedules, daily budgets, strict mode, and non-private selection metadata.
Screen Time authorization state granted by iOS.

Focus Blocks does not read, count, log, or transmit your app usage. Apple's Screen Time framework performs shielding on the operating-system side based on the rules you set.

On Android

Selected applications, including the package identifiers and labels you choose from the launchable apps installed on the device.
Rules you create, including names, schedules, selected days, and whether each rule is enabled locally.
Foreground application identifiers delivered by Android Accessibility window-change events. Focus Blocks compares the current identifier with your enabled rules on the device and opens its blocked screen when a rule applies.

The Android Accessibility service cannot retrieve window content and does not read screen text, inspect the view hierarchy, capture keystrokes, take screenshots, perform gestures, or transmit Accessibility data. It uses foreground application identifiers only for the app-blocking action you configure. You can disable the service at any time in Android Accessibility settings.

Optional iCloud sync on iOS

Your rules and preferences can be written to Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store, container iCloud.love.nemi.focus, so your setup is available on your own iPhone and iPad.
Screen Time app selections do not sync as reusable app tokens. Each device stores its own private FamilyActivitySelection token after you confirm apps on that device.
This data is stored in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID. The developer of Focus Blocks has no access to it, cannot read it, and cannot enumerate users.
You can stop this sync by turning off iCloud Drive for Focus Blocks in Settings -> [your name] -> iCloud.

Android data is local and does not sync through iCloud.

What Focus Blocks never does

Does not create an account or require one.
Does not include analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.
Does not send data to our servers. There are no servers.
Does not monitor or log which apps you use, when, or for how long.
Does not manage other people's devices. Focus Blocks is self-directed, not parental control.

Children's privacy

Focus Blocks does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.

Security

Local data is protected by the application sandbox provided by iOS or Android. Optional iCloud Key-Value sync is handled by Apple.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, we have nothing to export, correct, or delete on our end. To remove Focus Blocks data:

Disable Focus Blocks in Android Accessibility settings if you enabled Android blocking.
Delete the app to remove its local storage.
On iOS, use iCloud account storage settings to remove Focus Blocks iCloud Key-Value entries.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new effective date. If Focus Blocks ever begins collecting data, that will require a new app version with clear disclosure.
